Artist Biography

My name is Werner Hilberink, and I am a silversmith and an artist.

I am just one person doing the designs that I like and believe in. No main stream computer generated jewelry but pieces created on the working bench with hammers, saws and other tools. No mass produced jewelry with the help of other employees, just me, myself and I.

I create raw pieces that make a statement both for men and women. I have built up my competence through hands-on experience and by attending evening courses and summer schools around the world with artists that I admire, like the late Michael Kabotie, who was a Hopi Indian, and Richard Tsosie who is a Navajo Indian.

I like craftsmanship related to culture. Jewelry as personal adornment is as old as mankind. I am inspired by tribes from the past but work very much in the present offering you an elegant, contemporary look - a big bold look - jewelry that is appropriate for casual daily wear.

I take it as a big compliment when people buy my pieces, but I am even more excited when people come with their own ideas to be realized in silver.I accept orders for your custom ring, bracelet, pendant, necklace, belt buckles or any other jewelry you have in mind. I am located in Storgata 9 in Oslo, in the creative environment of House of Pain's tattoo and piercing studio.

Here I have my silver work for you to see and try and you can ask in the reception if I am in my studio. Feel free to drop by, my personal contact with you as the wearer of my jewelry means a lot to me. It is advised however to contact me first if you want to meet in person.

Thank you so much for your support and your interest and I am looking forward to work with you to create your special piece of jewelry.
